The Family Resource Desk

The Family Resource Desk (FRD) has been in operation since November, 2004 and provides community resources for our patients and their families. We are dedicated to providing comprehensive, organized, and useful information in an effort to maximize the utilization of resources in and around Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties.

The Family Resource Center is located in the Pediatric Emergency Department of Stanford Hospital. Staffing hours are from 3:30 pm to 10:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Between these hours, we can receive calls or reply to emails with answers to any questions about services that are provided in and around the community.

Our primary goal during our office hours is to create a welcoming environment in the Emergency Department for children and their families. We provide and organize various entertainment materials for children of varying ages. In addition, we provide useful information to adults and parents that are visitors to the Emergency Department; and to the general public through our web site. Services include information on health insurance, subsidized housing, WIC, and food stamps; as well as links and phone numbers for services such as mental health, teen health, and pregnancy resources.

Parent Information & Referral Center

Speak to experienced pediatric nurses when you have questions about your kids. The Parent Information & Referral Center (PIRC) is a free community service provided by Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford.

Available: Seven days a week, from 7am to 11pm.

El Centro de Informacion y Refercencias para Padres

Hable con enfermeras especializadas en pediatria cuando tiene preguntas acerca de sus ninos. El Centro de Informacion y Refercencias para Padres (PIRC) es un servicio gratuito comunitario del Hospital de Lucile Packard Children's en Stanford.

Disponible: Siete dias a la semana de las 7am a las 11pm.
