Traumatic injury can result in serious disability and is a leading cause of death in this nation. Many injuries can be prevented or avoided, including those from auto and motorcycle crashes, bicycle crashes, gun violence, or even seemingly simple crashes, such as a fall within your own home. Behavior and environmental modifications, as well as consistent use of safety equipment, can help to decrease the incidence of events resulting in injury.
